Accelerate crossing back rings (6th level rings)

In my experience :
1. Use light /whitish coloured gravel/ bottom
2. Do not put lamp on top of the tank , instead put lamp on the bottom of it.
3. tanning , tanning and more tanning

In theory , to adapt camouflage, the fish will follow the colour of the river to cover it's appearance ,so most of them will get it's back's rings dark coloured , even when they were adult size crossback SR will have their back's ring darker core than the rest 5 level rings.
Try to manipulate the bottom colour to accelerate crossback process, remember Bloodred are faster in crossing back rings than Chili Red

Prof JD, I am wondering if I could use Bio ring as gravel ? Fill the bottom of AQ with a lot of Bio/ceramic Rings. ceramic Rings won't raise my pH & gH so I can maintain the water pH at lower end (6-6.7).
I was having a hardtime to find the right stone for gravel.

can I do that ?

thanks

No you can't , basically it is a gypsum molds (Cakcium) it may rise the gH in large and wide contact with water body in tank , but it is harmless in canister tank

prof JD,

in tanning for super red, in which age is the best to start?

let's say 10 weeks? or around 10-11cm?

or wait until the aro ages around 3 months size 15cm
